For the fourth of July, I made 3 flavors for a party (vanilla, chocolate, & stawberry--I went with the basics), making the bases for each the night before. The next morning, I froze all three ice creams in less than two hours. With a compressor machine, it's easy to make multiple batches one after the other. And the ice cream was a hit at the party, too....

If you follow the same basic recipe (I learned to make ice cream from the Ben and Jerry's recipe book) your ice cream from this machine will have the same consistency every time. Plus you can make one batch, clean the equipment, and make another batch right away. I once made two batches that way, and they both had the same consistency.....

Cuisinart machine arrived yesterday and was very well packed and not a scratch on it. Not as heavy as my old but out of warranty Gelato by lello that was broken after just 6 uses. I really wanted to try it out but waited the 24 hours knowing the machine must not of been up right the whole journey. This morning made one batch that was done in less time than my old one did when it worked. Ice cream was real creamy and was so perfect. made another batch, it was done in less time than the first and was just as good. Machine a little noisy but so what the ice cream is better than most brands in stores.....

I bought this Ice Cream Maker from Amazon about three years ago and I have had good success with it. I like it because I can make ice cream or sorbets without having to prefreeze some bowl for hours beforehand. All you do is put your mixture into the bowl, cover, and turn the machine on and in as little as 30-60 minutes you have ice cream. The freezing goes faster if you cool the mixture first in the refrigerator or freezer but you don't have to. The usefulness of the Cusinart ICE-50BC is you can make more ice cream because you don't have to wait for a bowl to get cold again so you can make 4-5 quarts in a couple of hours....

I really like this machine. It is perfect for me as I love fresh icecream but am normally either too lazy to go through all the trouble of doing ice and salt or dont have the foresight to freeze a bowl in advance. It is usually out of the question for me to buy such an expensive appliance that is so specific (only good for one thing) but this was a gift and I am really suprised with how much use I am getting out of it. It is really simple to just pour the ingredients in the bowl after supper then enjoy dessert just a little while later....
